Eric Cook and I (Brantley Fraser) founded Poppy Coffee Roasters in the spring of 2025. Personally, I was inspired by the upstarting cafes and coffee companies in Charleston making names for themselves - they were not only filling a need, they were doing it with purpose, passion, and style.

With the way this city has changed so much over the past ten years, it can be difficult to find local places that can both keep up with rising prices, but also bring quality to their work. Having worked on the importing side of the coffee world, while also working in restaurants for 15 years, I felt there was still even more room for specialty coffee in Charleston, SC - in our restaurants, our homes, our offices, wherever. We love good coffee and good vibes, and we hope you do too.
